Samba Journeys invites you to a transformative journey of self-discovery, reconnection, and cultural immersion with the ROOTED in Remembrance experience.
Join us as we fully immerse ourselves in the rhythms, flavors, and spirituality of Bahia, Brasil—a land where African heritage thrives and Ancestral roots are deeply felt.
This retreat is exclusively curated for self-identifying Black individuals, creating a sacred space to explore and connect with the legacies of Our Ancestors.

What’s Included in the ROOTED in Remembrance Experience:
• Dance Immersion: Daily dance classes, including traditional Bahia dances and Root Samba, as we move and connect with our African heritage.
• Music Exploration: Hands-on music sessions where you’ll learn traditional rhythms and instruments used in Afro-Brazilian culture.
• Cultural Exchange: Engage with local Bahian artists, dancers, musicians, chefs, and community members, deepening your understanding of African diasporic culture.
• Language Practice: Daily study of Portuguese and African Roots languages to help you better connect with the culture and people of Bahia.
• Cuisine Journey: Savor traditional Afro-Brazilian dishes and explore the deep African roots of Bahian cuisine.
• African spirituality: Learn about African spirituality and the Orixás, the divine forces that shape Bahian culture and Samba.
